Chocolate! Is there such a thing as a healthy alternative?!

Chocolate is a snack that a lot of midlifers just don’t want to give up (That’s why my nutrition programmes say it’s ‘without giving up wine or chocolate’). But it can really undermine our best healthy eating efforts and put us firmly on that sugar rollercoaster that creates cravings and energy slumps.

Dark chocolate is somewhat better as it’s lower in sugar but that’s not to say it’s a health food. But these chocolatey mouthfuls will hopefully give you the sugar hit you crave along with the nutritional benefits of nuts. Just don’t eat them all though!
